What would I change? I’d like it to be 1mm bigger, but it’s surprisingly not a deal breaker for me with this watch. It inspires confidence, and is lovely to use. The oversized crown is a must on watches moving forward for me. Minimal markings on the bezel are also appreciated. It makes a very satisfying buzz as you ratchet it around. It feels good on wrist and the bracelet machining is nicely done. I still wish it had the extra flip lock even though it really doesn’t do much.Īll that to say I’m surprisingly comfortable with this, the smallest watch I own. I’m sure the bracelet is secure but it’s a single mechanism bracelet, though it takes two buttons to release it. And the fitted bracelet, well, the lugs of the watch stand a bit proud of the bracelet so it’s a less than perfect match, but the bracelet itself is stellar being well made and easy to size with screw pins.

It wears big.Īnd if I was to be picky, I’d wish the hands were dark smoked chrome rather than painted black. I wish it was a bit bigger, but I like it more than I thought I would. And every watch I own and put on my 7 and 3/4” wrist is 42 or 43mm with the exception of a 40mm Lum-Tec so I was wary of the 38mm case/ 39mm bezel measurements of the Nodus. It’s more green than I expected from the photographs. I love it when a small brand watch maker keeps their promises. Nodus promised to ship my pre-order on November 12, and early in the morning of November 12th I had a tracking number and from LA to Vancouver BC it took about 24 hours to arrive at my front door. So I now own a Nodus Sector Dive watch in sea foam green. I could say something about bezel size but it’s subjective. it needs to be of a reasonable size, and it needs to thread because I’ve snapped off crowns. because I beat the crap out of everything I own. knowing the precise time, and knowing how much time has passed. I want to be able to mark a moment and gauge my position relative to that moment whether it’s baking bread, or paying attention to how long I’ve tolerated waiting for service at a restaurant or retail outlet. make it take the place of indices or put it between and make it its own thing.

and don’t make it compete with markings on the watch. a red second hand contrasting silver primary hands. at a glimpse I shouldn’t have to spend a microsecond discerning the second hand from the hour and minute hands. And make them legible across the whole dial.Ĭontrast the second hand. I know I’m offending lots of people, but give me two legible, matching, different length, easy to discern hands with decent lume please. Matching hands, of different length, duh, but I don’t want one super skinny, the other fat with a Mercedes symbol on it, or swords, or super fat to super pointy, or some weird mix of all this. And we’re all looking for a new watch, right? It’s simple, the checklist, and yet so hard to find for some reason. Like most of us, I have a checklist when looking for a new watch.
